Pala Learning Center
Education Programs
The Pala Learning Center programs consist of the following:
- Pala Library provides free and easy access to information, ideas, over 6,000 volumes and technology that enrich, educate, and empower every individual. In addition to the full range of services provided in the library free public wireless internet.
- Computer Lab is a room within the Learning Center which contains 12 computer stations, laser printer designed for public use. Wireless access is available during operating hours. Staff is available to provide individual help with computer technology and software applications. Please adhere to computer lab rules.
- G.E.D. Preparation Program is done on the computer or with an instructor. It is designed for students who are at least 18 years of age. Students are admitted anytime openings exist and are expected to attend a minimum number of 10 hours per week.
- Adult Literacy & Adult Basic Education provides opportunities for adults to complete high school or to improve reading, writing, and math skills. This program is also for those high school/GED graduates who want to upgrade their basic skills.
- After School Tutorial Program helps students with additional instruction toward their current studies. Student assistants will help students with strategies to learn objectives and complete their homework with understanding. Afte4r school tutoring is offered to students K-12. Students will not be required to attend every session; they may attend on an “as needed” basis.
- Pala Ivy Satellite (Fallbrook High School District) is an alternative high school (9th grade through 12th grade) focused on shared vision of academic and social success.
- Pala Family Literacy Program is combination for adult basic education, parenting education and early childhood education. Pala Family Literacy Program focuses on parents and children as a unit to: 1) Help parents get involved with their children’s education, 2) Assist children in reaching their full potential, and 3) Provide literacy training for parents, to teach parents to be the child’s first teacher. This program also provide with transportation.
- Little Feathers Program is for ages 3-5 years of age. This program helps children get ready to enter Kindergarten. It help build up self-control, physical development, recognizing and development in building vocabulary, social and emotional skills, geometric shapes, primary colors, differences in size and shape, creative and imagination.
- Winway Resume Program is training in “job winning” phrases, convincing cover letters, and interview simulator, negotiation strategies, a contact manager and mail merge program, and professional fonts.
- Tribal Scholarship Student must be an enrolled tribal member of the Pala Band of Mission Indians. The scholarship fund pays full tuition to an accredited institution/school of your choice. Student fees, parking, and books are also included (all costs are to be supported by receipts). Scholarship applications are available at the Learning Center. - Palomar Community College (Pala Site) is a public two-year community college. Students may choose from Associate Degree and Certificate Programs, complete the first two year of a Bachelor’s Degree, or enjoy personal enrichment classes for lifelong learning.
