Announcement: NCIDC Work Grant Program

Pala, CA – The Northern California Indian Development Council (NCIDC) is a federally-funded grant program that works with local reservations to get people back to work for $16.00 – $18.00 an hour.

Please contact us if you are looking for temporary work (with a possibility to be hired on full-time through Pala), and you:

• Are 18 years of age or older
• Have two forms of ID sufficient for an I-9 Form
• Are registered with Selective Services if you are a male
• Have a work history but have been unemployed for the last 15.5 weeks out of the last 26 weeks (non-consecutive is ok)
• Are able to perform hard physical labor in storm-damaged areas, such as removing brush

Summer is here! That means it’s time for barbecues, pool parties, and outdoor fun. To make sure your summertime stays safe, we’ve put together some tips and facts on safe grilling, pool and water safety, and rattlesnake awareness. You can find all the information you need in the documents section of the Pala website. You can also find a lot more information on rattlesnakes and other wildlife at the Pala Environmental Department website. Take a look at these helpful handouts and share them with friends and family to keep your summer safe.

Announcement: Road Repairs Continuing in Pala

PALA, CA – The Pala Band advises the community to expect detours and delays for road repairs through May 11th. Please use caution.

To expedite the completion of the project, please keep vehicles off the streets.

Road sealing, patching, speed hump installation, and striping are taking place on these dates and locations:

  • April  23rd – 25th:  Road sealing: Moro Road, Chutnicutt Road
  • April  26th: Speed hump striping: Moro Road, Chutnicutt Road
  • April 26th – 27th: Asphalt patching and speed humps: Remijio Street, Robles Way, Oak Drive
  • April  30th – May 1st: Road sealing: Trujillo Road, Owlinguish Road, La Chusa Road, Quashish Road, Sycamore Lane
  • May  2nd: Speed hump striping: Trujillo Road, Owlinguish Road, La Chusa Road, Quashish Road, Sycamore Lane
  • May 3rd – 4th: Road sealing: Nejo Road, Jackson Circle, Nolasquez Way, Smith Lane, Robles Way, Remijio Street
  • May 7th – 8th: Speed hump striping: Nejo Road, Jackson Circle, Nolasquez Way, Smith Lane, Robles Way, Remijio Street
  • May 9th – 10th: Road sealing: Henderson Road
  • May 11th: Speed hump striping: Henderson Road
